Thanks everybody for making yesterday's central 1 retreat so fun! It wouldn't have been successful without the enthusiastic participation of all of you. So I think it was great that you guys bothered to come and play our games.

Anyway, I can't believe that 2006 is approaching. So fast! I really don't wanna leave Nanyang la. You guys better appreciate the school that you have now before it's too late and you will have to leave our lovely school campus for a ratty run-down building. SIGH.

minzhen here. oh my goodness, this is such a stagnant blog so here i am, trying to give this blog a revival. okay technically i shouldn't be blogging here cause i'm in centralA, but i'm sure no one minds right? okay yes no one minds.

the last person who blogged is choonie! i just msged her anw.. mm so sad wished you were still in ny, still with us! oh well. but we are still serving God together. okay people, it's gonna be year 2006 soon and very soon! let's not forget what we have promised God during church camp and the prayers that we have prayed! alright?(: yupp i believe God will bless our schools with fruits so continue running the race with the burning desire for great things! :D

this is kohchoonyee blogging one last time in central d blog..
im now moving on to central a.. sobz!

firstly, i wanna tell yijun how much i will miss her as my beloved sheep! she is my longest sheep i ever haf.. lemme count..she had been my sheep for 1 year and 1 month! ahhhh.. thats really long! n i must affirm her for how much she has grown! im quite worried bout yijun in her new group in central d..but im sure miss yeow will haf no prob!! =)though im not yijun's shepherd anymore n diff unit, im not too sad cuz her classroom is right below mine! hoho.. i always see her during elective lesson! miss ya yijun! =)

secondly, to my beloved shepherd cathy chia.. she became my shepherd in sec 2 for 8 months.. then change to xiang then change back to cathy for ten months! in total it was 18 months! woah thats long.. i know today during dinner at starhub, my affirmation wasnt really good cuz i started crying n couldnt rmb wat to say..n then everyone started laughin at me.. hmmph! arghh nvm.. im used to pple laughing at me.. okk.. here goes..
cathy, u r one of the closest person or in fact u r the closest person to me.. cuz u r my shepherd so i dont hesitate to tell u anything..i shall repeat myself here.. cathy chia often ask me which leader do i look up to?
i shall answer her question today.. hehe.. i look up to many leaders.. but the leader i look up to most is my shepherd cathy..there are many things i haf to learn from her.. one area im really lacking is wisdom n cathy has lots of it.. the way cathy respond to situations, n the words that she use which really make a very deep impact in my heart.. whenever a problem arises, i just hafta whip out my phone n call her.. n she will give me advice on wat to do n how to deal with the situation!

cathy is a very very loving shepherd who really go all out to make her pple feel loved.. i will keep reading the notebook cathy gave me for the chiangmai trip! =) i felt so loved over there in chiangmai.. i still rmb on children's day 2 years ago.. she baked cookies for me tracy n liping! haha..i still kept the box that she gave us.. so sweet yar..
ohhh the most memorable shepherding we had was the one at east coast.. when we walk n walk n walk down east coast park for dunno how long.. we just kept walking n walking until we got tired! haha..
there are so so much more bout cathy i wanna tok bout..but i shall end off here.. though im sad that cathy isnt my shepherd anymore, she is now my sheepmate (which is a little weird, just like me n tracy.. hmmmm).. n i know we can still tok more on our long long bus rides home together..i love u cathy! n yijun! n central d!

What should I say. Service rocked my socks. (Oops, I actually typed rocked my rocks. But how does it work arhhh.) Yep. I feel like doing praise all over again.

And we kept singing the song that was for altar call during seed meeting.

We don't just sing because the music's great and all that. But we sing to Him because we really want to worship and praise Him. =) That's the whole beauty of it. You can just stand before God and surrender it all to Him.

mozart is a true child prodigy..he is really amazing! really really..

he was able to listen to a 3hour long piece once and after that he could write everything down.. every single note and detail including all the dynamics everything.. and he was like so young.. im 15+ n i may just fall asleep listenin to a 3 hour piece..haha..

ohhh n its proven through a test that mozart's music help pple perform better in tests.. yupz.. the test was a group of pple listened to mozart before a test and their test results were better than the pple who didnt listen to mozart.. so cool rite? im going to listen to mozart before my olevels! someone remind me to go get a mozart cd! hehe =)

just wanted to end 2004 by blogging at our dear central d blog..

this year has been a very eventful n happening year for me!! lots of ups n downs like a roller coaster ride =)

-central d: all the cgs, hope recess every monday, bdae celebrations =) the pple in central d are the closest grp of frens in my life! thank God for all of u.. =)

below are some interesting cgs that we had:

-cgs when pple sharing testimony are so touched by God that they cry..these pple r choonmin n melanie.. (hahahaha)

-cgs at third floor outside library.. we r so noisy that during prelim period our dear cheryl studying in the library had to signal to us to keep quiet thru the glass door.. hahahaha.. that was very funny..
n once at the same place we were so noisy that a teacher came n scold us..

-the cgs we had at yijun's house! the funniest was playing sardiness..hahahahaha.. this is so funny..thanks yijun for ur nice house!

-the cg with amazing race all around orchard!! haha.. n we all had to find cheryl who was sitting comfortably in borders!

-the cg at sentosa n it was dear choonmin's bdae! =) all of us were playing with mudballs..haha

-whenever we haf to share blessing..minzhen's blessing will definitely definitely be on how God helped her thru financial difficulties.. hahaha

I guess I have been thinking quite a lot. Especially about Central D.

And honestly, people, you all have no idea how grateful I am that I can be serving God with all of you. Really. You guys have shown me what sacrifice means, what love means. It's the little things that you all do, like pay for a drink at lunch without wanting to split the cost... That really never fails to touch me.

Thank you for being Central D. Basically. =) I love all of you.

We've always been a pretty small group. To put it in a not so nice way, stagnant at 20. At service today, I realised how tiny we are. We filled one row. But I want to say something.

We are not going to remain a small unit. We will grow. And Christmas is here. Which means the harvest is here. Let's all be faithful in keeping up with our contacts, comfirm early with them about coming for service. This is the time.

Breakthrough!

THE HINDU AND THE ANTHILL

the bible says that Jesus is God. but how could God become a man - and why? this is difficult for us to understand. to many people, the very fact that Jesus Christ came to earth as 'one of us' proves that He could not be God. therefore, His death on the cross has little significance. to them, He was just a good man who died a horrible death.

A number of years ago, several university students shared the gospel with one of their classmates who happened to be Hindu. The Hindu student knew that there was a God, yet He could not grasp the Christian concept that God actually visited this planet in the person of Jesus Christ and then died to take away our sins.

One day while walking through a field and wrestling in his mind with this concept of God, he observed an anthill that was in the path of a farmer ploughing his field. the particualr sect that he belonged to believed that all life was sacred: a cow, a cobra, even an ant. gripped with a concern similar to what you or I would feel for hundreds of pple trapped inside a burning building, the Hindu wanted to warn the ants of the impending danger. but how? he could shout to them, but they would not hear. he could write to them, but they would be unable to read.

how then could he communicate with the ants? then it struck him. Out of sheer love, he wished that he could become an ant. if this had been possible, he could have warned them before it was too late. then he realised that this was what his christian friends tried to tell him about Jesus.

At last he understood how God had called to mankind, but we wouldn't listen. He wrote to us, but we refused to read. Out of sheer love, Jesus Christ - Himself God - stepped out of heaven and took on a body of human flesh. He became like us and live a perfect life. He led us away from death and destruction by becoming a sin offering in our place. He demonstrated His love for us in a cross. It is through His death that we escape the penalty for ous sins.

This site is becoming more like a Wonbin fan site. -__-'' I would like to give all the Wonbin fans a gentle reminder that this is afterall, our central d blog. Can write more constructive things or not... ^-^

I am in love with the altar call song that we sang yesterday. For the cause? Is that the title? Anyway, I was really touched by the sermon and all that. =) Having some tough times at home at the moment, but I'm definitely, most definitely gonna stand firm. God's cause is above all. It is the most worthwhile!

The week ahead is going to be a super busy one. And it's going to be tough to hold any after school caregroups! *wails* I know most of you guys don't really have a lot of fun at recess caregroups, but sometimes we don't have much of a choice yeah? =\

Yixiao asked me a very interesting question yesterday online. (I hope you're reading this, girl!) Have I ever felt like leaving God and walking away from my faith? In other words, she's talking about backsliding la. Anyway. Feeling spiritually dry is quite normal. It happens to most Christians. It's the devil's way of trying to pull us away from God.

The scariest thing about backsliding is that most of the time, you hardly ever realise it. =S I was backsliding once and I didn't even know! You just gradually slip away. You tend to forget about God's presence in your life and focus on other things. It happened to me. That's why it's very important to check your heart at all times. Be very aware if you're far from God. And do something about it! Talk to your shepherd, immerse yourself in His word, have a long chitchat with God... It'll help. Or else, your heart will start to harden against God, and before you know it, it's too late. You decide that God isn't real and all that. And by the time, when your leaders try to talk to you, you're just indifferent, blind to their love and God's love.

For me, when I feel far from God, I just remind myself about the miracles that God has made in my life. And I think about how awful life would be without Him around. =)

okk just did some calculations from wat i have learnt from sermon..

just to take 1 second to say the word "Jesus" to the 5.5 billion pple in the world who have not known Jesus takes 175 years..
but u need 5 minutes to share christ.. u know bridge diagram n all that.. so in 5 mins there are 300 secs..
do some calcutlation.. it takes 52500 years to share christ to the 5.5 billion pple..
according to jasmine.. an average 70 year old person spends 1/5 of his/her life serving God.. that is equals to 14 years..

52500 divide by 14 = 3750
we need 3750 commited pple to win the world!! yipeeee
but its not that easy.. u hafta travel to those super inaccesible places in the world..and u first have to learn their language before sharing christ to them..
plus the 5.5 billion pple we have to share christ to will certainly increase..
so we need more than 52500 years and 3750 pple to win the world.. we need every single one of us christians to fully utilise our resources n win the world for Jesus!! yay!! =)

Wow. I'm kinda happy that this blog is becoming active again. Finally! Lord! My efforts have paid off. =)

By the way Choonmin, I was not tying knots to a pole. Okay, I was. But it's called gadgets and it's really fun. Haha. Oh. I just found out that next year's sec ones will HAVE to join a uniform group no matter what. Which means a uniform group can either be their core cca or their 2nd cca. I take this as bad news. =( Which means I will be getting uncommitted juniors.

its time i blog.. haha..havent blogged for a long time.. n i realised that not many pple blog here.. shall pull suet to blog here..
okk anw.. highlights of today..no i mean yday thursday 14 oct.. we had cg at ikea =) n i thought it was really fun thanks to the organisers *ahem* n i feel so great now.. hahaha.. cuz so far i have inspired tracy n suet to talk to God via writing.. u know what.. to those pple reading this i am highly encouraging u to write to God!

cuz u know when u are tired after school or a long day.. n when u pray u have a higher chance of falling asleep.. ok im guilty of this..but its true.. so ever since last year i have been writing to God n writing down bout what i do everyday at the same time in my diary.. n its good cuz while u reflect bout ur day u can tell God bout ur day at the same time..
n pls pls pls dont write to God online.. example using a private blog.. i tried convincing suet not to.. but nvm.. some pple like suet just cant write properly.. lolx.. ok back to the point.why i dont like to write to God using blogs or online diary is cuz i dont trust technology.. one moment ur post is there the next moment its gone! n when u r 50 yrs old or sth its nice to read wat silly things u write bout when u are 14 rite.. so if u write it down u can always re-read it.. yupz.. n its more personal than typing cuz its ur own handwriting.. not times new romans or verdana or arial or wateva font..

i think long bus rides are totally fun?!yess i was wearing my SNUGG jacket today and my NEW bag, haha God has blessed me with wonderful tools, um ok so i was qiaoing jiao on the upper deck of the bus and slping on the way home 153 quite a long way ok so i was snoring with my hands folded and slping hugging my bag la, ok picture me slping and i nearly fall off the chair but it was nice slping k..so later in 190 i decided to jsut slp nicely without my hairband cause it hurts when u crash ur head against the window and sleeep (: sleep is gooodd..yes and now i feel recharged! btw *gusshes* did anybody watch singapore idol? so SPASTIC! but one person was good, and is slyvester tt shuai? hahahah..okkk haha..umm..ya hahaha..

I'm supposed to be fasting from blogging and msn. But I guess I sorta broke my fast today because I was desperate to get someone to send me the soft copy of the schedule template. And then I went on msn. Unfortunately Choonie didn't have it. =( Suet hurry up and send it to your frustrated shepherd. Nowwwww. (If she sees this.)

Anyway, I think I wanna applaud everyone who put in so much effort for caregroup today. Especially Yijun for letting us use her house, because if not we wouldn't have such a nice and comfortable cg venue. So thank God for you!! >.< And to Liping who did a really good job at leading worship. And Suet for playing guitar. (She suffered so much lors. Even had leg cramps halfway through.) Choonie for the lovely song presentation. It was really nice! And for cooperating with me during teaching. Of course to Choonmin who tried to make holy comm serious but we ended up laughing. =X Yay. Had loads of fun today. Especially playing sardines. Wheeee. And the food was nice too. Central D!

Anyway, I bet everyone's too busy mugging for the exams to see this. Although I didn't really get to study today because of caregroup and shepherding after that (Thank God for my lovely responsive sheep) But I believe God will bless us much more for exams. So no worries. He is in total and complete control.

Meanwhile, let's have the spirit of excellence and fuifil the 20 hours studying thingy. =) Take care everyoneeee!

it says "on our behalf".. means that God didnt send His son down on earth to die to help Himself but to help us..i realised that it is not God who needs us..He can just abandon us and leave us to die and He will still be alright.. but His love and mercy He has for us is so much that He send His only son to die on the cross for us..it is us sinful beings who need Him to come into our lives to save us.. =) and i am so thankful and grateful that God did that for someone so sinful like me! *muacks* thanks Daddy!

Here is a story about a nine year old boy who lived in a rural town in Tennessee.

His house was in a poor area of the community. A church had a bus ministry that came knocking on his door one Saturday afternoon. The kid came to answer the door and greeted the bus pastor.

The bus pastor asked if his parents were home and the small boy told him that his parents take off every weekend and leave him at home to take care of his little brother. The bus pastor couldn't believe what the kid said and asked him to repeat it. The youngster gave the same answer and the bus pastor asked to come in and talk with him.

They went into the living room and sat down on an old couch with the foam and springs exposed. The bus pastor asked the kid, "Where do you go to church?" The young boy surprised the visitor by replying, "I've never been to church in my whole life."

The bus pastor thought to himself about the fact that his church was less than three miles from the child's house.

"Are you sure you have never been to church?" he asked again.

"I sure haven't," came his answer. Then the bus pastor said, "Well, son, more important than going to church, have you ever heard the greatest love story ever told?" and then he proceeded to share the Gospel with this little nine year old boy. The young lad's heart began to be tenderized and at the end of the bus pastor's story the bus pastor asked if the boy wanted to receive this free gift from GOD.

The youngster exclaimed, "You Bet!

The kid and the bus pastor got on their knees and the lad invited Jesus into his little heart and received the free gift of salvation. They both stood up and the bus pastor asked if he could pick the kid up for church the next morning.

"Sure," the nine old replied. The bus pastor got to the house early the next morning and found the lights off. He let himself in and snaked his way through the house and found the little boy asleep in his bed. He woke up the little boy and his brother and helped get them dressed. They got on the bus and ate a donut for breakfast on their way to church.

Keep in mind that this boy had never been to church before. The church was a real big one. The little kid just sat there,clueless of what was going on.

A few minutes into the service these tall unhappy guys walked down to the front and picked up some wooden plates. One of the men prayed and the kid with utter fascination watched them walk up and down the aisles. He still didn't know what was going on. All of a sudden like a bolt of lightning it hit the kid what was taking place. These people must be giving money to Jesus.

He then reflected on the free gift of life he had received just twenty-four hours earlier. He immediately searched his pockets, front and back, and couldn't find a thing to give JESUS. By this time the offering plate was being passed down his aisle and with a broken heart he just grabbed the plate and held on to it.

He finally let go and watched it pass on down the aisle. He turned around to see it passed down the aisle behind him. And then his eyes remained glued on the plate as it was passed back and forth, back and forth all the way to the rear of the sanctuary. Then he had an idea. This little nine year old boy, in front of GOD and everybody, got up out of his seat. He walked about eight rows back, grabbed the usher by the coat and asked to hold the plate one more time. Then he did the most astounding thing I have ever heard of.

He took the plate, sat it on the carpeted church floor and stepped into the center of it.
As he stood there, he lifted his little head up and said, "JESUS, I don't have anything to give you today, but just me. I give you me!"
